The Policy of Appeasement (Britain & France)

This cartoon is about the policy of appeasement (1936), particularly the point of view of Britain and France. In the middle of the picture, there are French and British foreign policy in arm and arm. They are congratulating themselves for avoiding the war. They are also hoping to convince public this way. The bottom of the right corner, Winston Churchill is saying, “I don’t think so.” because he did not believe that this policy would work for long. In the background which is the top of the left corner, Adolf Hitler is saying, “I don’t believe this.” because the policy of appeasement is a benefit to him.
